The Christmas Message No-One Else Dared Tell You!!
It’s the Christmas message no-one will tell you.
But, I will.
The Christmas ethic it seems wrong to voice.
I’m voicing it!
The Christmas wish few would admit to, or dare hope for…or venture to make come true.
Well, I’m wishing!
In fact I’m going to do more than that. I’m going to publicly declare right here, right now, the one truth, that few people will accept about Christmas, and the one taboo you shouldn’t mention!
That message, that hush hush, off limits, and almost forbidden Christmas revelation is…
Think of yourself!
This Christmas think about YOU. Yes, you!!
I don’t doubt you will spend endless amounts of hours, cash, and thoughts considering just about everyone else, tirelessly attempting to make their yuletide happy and memorable and as fun as possible.
That’s because you care and love and give and feel and have a heart as big as the world itself.
But, this Christmas do the same for yourself.
And don’t stop there. Carry it on into the New Year and beyond and onto what you want for YOUR life for once. You only get one life so it’s time to stop living for others and live for yourself far more.
It’s wrong that you don’t and never that you should do.
So, this Christmas it IS finally time to…
♥ Do what puts a smile on your face and get your own party started
♥ Allow yourself to be happy for whatever reason you choose
♥ Make the festivities what you want them to be
♥ Laugh for no reason, be with people who make you happy, dance and sing and let your hair down, and kick back your feet any time you want without guilt or worry or excuse
♥ Do something for yourself and promise to stick to it
♥ Love being you – no one else, just you!
♥ Carry this new free spirit into next year and every year from now on
Christmas is about making people happy – so who better than yourself for once?
The one person who deserves and needs happiness every Christmas.
Merry Xmas to YOU!!!!

Hi John,
I like the notion, and mainly because people often drive themselves crazy during the holiday season. They think of all the things they have to buy, all the parties they have to host, and ultimately end up overwhelmed with stress and feeling miserable. Not the purpose of the holiday if you ask me, and I think much of what you mention could help people find this balance. Thanks!
I agree Joe – the pointless pursuit of a perfect Christmas to please others when merely being in a room full of those we love is priceless in itself. I wish you a priceless Christmas my friend in every way!
LOVE IT!!
Off to start my own part John
Marcus
Make it yours Marcus! Have a cool Yule!
This is great, John! I’m always reminded of those people who always want to please others and an almost compulsive need to make others happy, at there own expense. And that last phrase is the most important part. When we do what others want in a knee-jerk manner, ignoring the gnaw inside our hearts because we really want it done differently, then we are burying ourselves in the dirt of other people’s desires. We undermine and undercut ourselves, discounting who we are.
Yours seems to me to be a call, not so much to selfishness as much as a call to accept ourselves as worthy of being happy as well. It is a call to seek win-win solutions over lose-win solutions. It’s the call to love ourselves as much as others, to give ourselves permission to desire and permission to get what we desire.
Thanks for the call to accept our own innate value.
Hope your Christmas was deeply rewarding, filled with family and loved ones just simply being.
Hi Ken, many thanks hombre, I had an interesting Christmas on every level (more to come soon) but one that ultimately will lead to a year and life that this post talks about for Christmas – one I want for me. Why can’t the Christmas message last the whole year through, right?
I have never made Christmas about me and I think I need too. I am exhausted and I think it’s because I am accommodating everyone but taking care of myself. Ahhhh. Ok. Next year… New Christmas rules! My rules!
Hi Meg, Happy New Year and I hope it will be as bright and happy as they come for you. You sound like you are ready to let go of pleasing others to please yourself more often. Bravo! Why not have a life for you? Enjoy every dazzling minute x
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I think one of the best things we can do this year is be the change we want to see and set the pace for a year of passion and positive impact.
Ditto on every level J.D. – when we change everything else changes too. It’s Universal spark in action. We are the sparks of creation. May 2012 be yours in every way!
